This is not news.

This has been going on at least since the administration of that Liberal Icon Franklin D. Roosevelt.

It is time, and past time, to junk the tax code, and go to something that actually makes sense, is in English instead of Tax-Lawyerese, and absolutely non-political.

I submit for your attention the Fair Tax. See it HERE.

In short, the one with a modest income pays less when he/she spends. The one with the envy-worthy income pays more when he/she spends.

It’s progressive – the more you spend, the more you pay.

What’s not to like?

Let’s see… fewer ‘crats looking over your shoulder? Check.

Fewer IRS agents, which reduces the expense of government? Check?

Less paperwork and confusion for everyone? Check.

April 15th is no longer a Dreaded Day? Oh my, CHECK!

When I reported to the Chief (Chief Petty Officer, USN) in charge of the Radio Shack, he showed me the paperwork involved with getting a Top Secret, Special Access clearance. Part of that paperwork involved me signing a promise that I would keep the secrets.

And I did. And I have. Some of the stuff that I saw, and that I was a very small part of, is still Top Secret, Burn Before Reading stuff.

I have kept the faith.

I now work with two guys who served on Ohio-class missile subs, aka “Boomers”.

We have kept the faith. Even amongst ourselves, we just don’t talk about it.

We promised, and we have kept our promises.

Walker did not keep the faith. He did 35 years. Google “Walker Spy Ring” for details. He should have been hanged.

Manning and Snowden did not keep the faith.

They are beneath contempt. They are worms.

I hope they rot.

Old Testament computing….

In ancient Israel, it came to pass that a trader by the name of Abraham Com did take unto himself a young wife by the name of Dorothy. And Dot Com was a comely woman, broad of shoulder and long of leg. Indeed, she was often called Amazon Dot Com.

And she said unto Abraham, her husband, “Why dost thou travel so far from town to town with thy goods when thou canst trade without ever leaving thy tent?”

And Abraham did look at her as though she were several saddle bags short of a camel load, but simply said, “How, dear?”

And Dot replied, “I will place drums in all the towns and drums in between to send messages saying what you have for sale, and they will reply telling you who hath the best price. The sale can be made on the drums and delivery made by Uriah’s Pony Stable (UPS).”

Abraham thought long and decided he would let Dot have her way with the drums. And the drums rang out and were an immediate success. Abraham sold all the goods he had at the top price, without ever having to move from his tent.

To prevent neighbouring countries from overhearing what the drums were saying, Dot devised a system that only she and the drummers knew. It was known as Must Send Drum Over Sound (MSDOS), and she also developed a language to transmit ideas and pictures – Hebrew To The People (HTTP).

And the young men did take to Dot Com’s trading as doth the greedy horsefly take to camel dung. They were called Nomadic Ecclesiastical Rich Dominican Sybarites, or NERDS.

And lo, the land was so feverish with joy at the new riches and the deafening sound of drums that no one noticed that the real riches were going to that enterprising drum dealer, Brother William of Gates, who bought off every drum maker in the land. Indeed he did insist on drums to be made that would work only with Brother Gates’ drumheads and drumsticks.

And Dot did say, “Oh, Abraham, what we have started is being taken over by others.”

And Abraham looked out over the Bay of Ezekiel , or eBay as it came to be known.

He said, “We need a name that reflects what we are.”

And Dot replied, “Young Ambitious Hebrew Owner Operators.”

“YAHOO,” said Abraham.

And because it was Dot’s idea, they named it YAHOO Dot Com.

Abraham’s cousin, Joshua, being the young Gregarious Energetic Educated Kid (GEEK) that he was, soon started using Dot’s drums to locate things around the countryside.

It soon became known as God’s Own Official Guide to Locating Everything (GOOGLE).

That is how it all began. And that’s the truth.

Amen.

So, the extra scrutiny of conservative groups was “inappopriate, but not politically motivated.”

Sure.

Especially the 118 visits during the time that the time that the extra scrutiny was being carried out, supervised by one Lois Lerner, who has asserted her Fifth Amendment rights, has refused to resign, and is currently suspended with full pay and benefits.

The IRS Inspector General informed “Senior Treasury Officials” in June 2012 that the IG had investigated and found the the charges of harassment of conservative tax-exempt groups where true.

The Obama Administration successfully suppressed the IG report until after the 2012 election.

“not politically motivated.”

Riiiight!

They play with you, and cuddle, and whine and cry and yap at night while you’re trying to sleep.

They learn to walk on the leash, and to come when called, and to “sit”, and to “stay”. And they poop and pee on the floor.

After they’re house-trained, they dance and whine at the door to go out. And they chase butterflies, and dig in the flower beds.

They’re always glad to see you when you come home, and a doggie’s tail is wagged by the heart.

They guard your house, bark if someone walks by on the other side of the street, and howl at the moon – at 3 AM.

They wag their tails, slobber on you, drag your socks out into the back yard, and shed all over you, the furniture they’re not supposed to lay on, and the rest of your house.

They sneak into the dining room to beg at the table, charm your friends, and steal your heart like a thief in the night.

Our beloved friend and companion, Tiny, died in her sleep last night after thirteen years of doing all of the above, and I will always miss her.

Damn dogs.

1. Energy Policy – “Stimulus” money funneled to various “Green” companies, such as Solyndra, have been a huge waste. The various “Green” technologies just can’t compete on a cost-effective basis.

2. Foreign Policy – The “Russian Reset”. The Middle East – especially Benghazi. Israel. Venezuela. North Korea. Conclusion: Rhetoric alone doesn’t work.

3. Taxation – The current IRS scandal.

4. Health Care – Well, former Speaker Pelosi, you got the Prez’s stuff passed, and a large chunk of us now know what’s in it, and we don’t like it at all. And it’s a tax! The Supremes said so!

5. Trust – We, the People, have had our noses rubbed in the reasons that we should not trust the Administration. Some of us have actually paid attention.

“My question isn’t about who’s going to resign — my question is who is going to jail over this scandal?” House Speaker John Boehner said Wednesday.

My response would be — “Mr Speaker, when was the last time any government employee went to jail for illegally harassing a legal “opposition” political organization?”

He, and other members of Congress and the Senate are quite correct in one respect, though. We, the people, do not trust and do not respect the US Government. Your record, Ladies and Gentlemen, is strikingly unworthy of trust or respect.
